Zarmani Trust - Schools and Orphanages

In Myanmar, there are many charity funds and associations formed for different purposes. Some take care of orphans while some help poor underprivileged children by running an orphanage or a free school. Some simply help health care for grass root level people by running a charity clinic.

We have helped several orphanages and schools, and charity clinics since 1995. They are:

We have also helped especially girls to attend vocational training courses. We give scholarship program for the youths attending advanced education.  We also open library in four schools.

Our library motivates not only children but also adults to read more.We see less children playing in the street instead they read books in monastery compound. As they are asking more questions to teachers, the teachers too are obliged to read more in order to be able to reply the children appropriately.

In Tharyargone School, we feed lunch 5 days a week. Before we run this free school, most of the children from the community (Lower Daraka Quarter) were street kids. Our project turns dozen of street kids to good students. As the living cost is getting higher in town and the general economy is not in good shape, many families in Lower Daraka Quarter cannot afford to give their children 3 meals a day. Some are having two meals a day, while the poorer families who have more family member can only afford light breakfast and dinner only. Children are obliged to work in order to earn 1$ wage plus 3 meals a day. To help solving part of this problem, we have decided to give lunch at school with belief that we will be able to keep more children in class rooms.

In Aungzeyarmin Orphanage we have successfully organized giving medical treatment for skin disease.
