Kyaikhtiyo – the Golden Rock 2 days / 1 nights

Day 1 Yangon - Kyaikhtiyo

Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Yangon, and drive to the trailhead at the base of Kyaikhtiyo Mountain. Then board an open-air truck for the hour’s drive up the mountainside. Walk the final part of the climb (about 45 minutes) to the Golden Rock Pagoda. Alternatively, walk the whole way up the lightly wooded hillside from the trailhead to the Golden Rock Pagoda. The hike is particularly scenic and takes about five hours. Overnight at Mountain Top Hotel.

Day 2 Kyaikhtiyo - Yangon

Breakfast at the hotel, descend the mountain by open air truck, then proceed to Bago : visit Shwemawdaw Pagoda (Myanmar’s tallest), and take a short walk to Hinthagon Hilltop, on the way see the Moat and gate-way to the 16^th century city of Hanthawaddy. Continue by car to Shwethalyaung Reclining Buddha and Kyaikpun Pagoda. Then return to Yangon for arrival in the early evening.
